I bought a Behringer Xtouch and it’s basically a cheaper clone of the Mackie MCU, down to the button layout.
Logic Pro X seems easier to me for that kind of work. The other thing is, I’m primarily a rock/metal musician, so most of my recording work is geared around recording instruments, and also doing voiceover work and audio for video (commercials). There’s nothing I’ve run into that couldn’t be done with Logic, and MIDI is so much nicer to work with as far as writing and composing in Logic. I started using it around version 6 and stopped upgrading at version 10, I really can’t think of anything I miss from it. Honestly, I was never a super heavy user of PT, but I learned digital recording on it after transitioning from analog.
